The Rubber Adhesive Operator is responsible for preparing, applying, and monitoring adhesives used in the fabrication and assembly of rubber products. This role ensures proper bonding, product quality, and compliance with safety, production, and quality standards. The operator works with production equipment, follows work instructions, and maintains a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and apply adhesives to rubber components according to production specifications.
• Operate manual and automated adhesive application equipment.
• Mix, measure, and handle adhesives following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines.
• Ensure proper adhesive coverage, bonding strength, and curing times.
• Assemble rubber components and verify proper alignment before bonding.
• Inspect finished products for adhesion quality, defects, and compliance with quality standards.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and production specifications.
• Perform routine equipment setup, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
• Monitor adhesive inventory and report material shortages.
• Maintain accurate production and quality control records.
• Follow all company safety policies, including the proper handling and storage of adhesives and chemicals.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in rubber manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production preferred.
• Experience with adhesives, bonding processes, or assembly operations is an asset.
• Ability to read measuring instruments and production documents.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive hand movements.
• Manual dexterity to handle small components and operate production equipment.

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing or industrial production environment.
• Exposure to adhesives, rubber materials, machinery, noise, and production chemicals.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, and respiratory protection when required.
