The Billing Manager will oversee billing accuracy, revenue capture, workflow optimization, and client invoicing processes across multiple practices and jurisdictions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting knowledge, advanced NetSuite proficiency, exceptional Excel skills, and the ability to confidently communicate with partners and clients regarding billing matters.This position requires a hands-on leader who can operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced, professional services environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the full billing lifecycle from matter setup through invoice issuance and revenue recognition alignmentEnsure timely and accurate client invoicing in accordance with engagement termsMonitor unbilled WIP, aged billing, and revenue leakage risksDrive improvements in billing workflows to reduce cycle time and reworkPartner with practice leaders to ensure billing discipline and adherence to policiesServe as subject matter expert for NetSuite billing functionalityOptimize billing workflows within NetSuiteEnsure proper configuration of customers, items, departments, and revenue mappingsWork cross-functionally with IT and Finance to enhance system automation and reportingIdentify and implement process improvements leveraging NetSuite capabilitiesClient & Partner CommunicationAct as primary point of contact for billing-related client inquiriesWork directly with partners and practice heads to resolve billing discrepanciesManage complex billing arrangements (multi-entity clients, cross-border matters, milestone billing)Handle escalations with professionalism and clarityControls & ComplianceEnsure billing complies with contractual terms, tax requirements, and internal approval thresholdsMaintain audit-ready documentation and controls around revenue and invoicingCoordinate with AR and Accounting teams to ensure alignment between billing and cash collectionsTeam LeadershipSupervise billing team members and ensure workload distribution and quality controlEstablish performance metrics and continuous improvement standardsFoster accountability, responsiveness, and high service levelsQualifications5 years of billing or revenue operations experience in a professional services environmentStrong hands-on expertise in NetSuite (required)Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data analysis, reporting automation)Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency environments preferredExperience working with senior partners and external clientsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized with strong attention to detailBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredPreferred ExperienceExperience in investigative, consulting, legal, or professional services firmsFamiliarity with LEDES billing formatsExperience in PE-backed or high-growth environmentsExposure to international billing structuresReady to Join Us?
