Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Production Planner / Scheduler located in Tooele, UT. The Production Planner / Scheduler will be responsible for creating and managing production schedules, ensuring that production plans are adhered to, and coordinating with various departments to ensure production efficiency. Tasks include managing inventory levels, forecasting production needs, and addressing any production-related issues that may arise. Effective communication with team members to streamline operations is essential.
Production Planning:
·Review Customer Order entries daily
·Review Customer Demand against current capacity and recommend changes to capacity as required.
·Review Raw material requirements against demand
Production Scheduling:
·Convert Customer Orders to Master Floor Schedule utilizing scheduling software/tools.
·Review capacity plan to ensure timely completion of customer orders.
·Review manufacturing schedule with Plant Superintendent and staff to ensure proper staffing.
Purchase/Release Raw Materials and Components:
·Review raw material inventory daily to ensure levels are adequate to meet production demand.
·Review and coordinate raw material purchases and releases with central Purchasing.
·Coordinate delivery of raw materials and ensure timely receipts
·Tracking of raw materials to ensure fulfillment of Purchase Orders
Planning:
·Utilize Capacity Planning and Forecasting tools.
·Regular correspondence with Purchasing and Customer Service.
·Publish/review Open order reports with Staff.
·Distinguish long lead items from normal lead times and assure materials are available according to demand and forecast
Scheduling:
·Daily meetings with Plant Superintendent and staff.
·100% conversion of unscheduled orders to scheduled orders, daily.
·95.5% completed
Coordinate Inbound/Outbound Freight:
·Daily review of published shipping schedule.
·92% on-time delivery of customer orders.
·99.5% on-time delivery of raw materials and purchased
Skills:
·Attention to detail
·Ability to speak in a group setting
·Ability to work with teams
·Utilize scheduling and forecasting software
·Develop and use Excel spreadsheets
Education/Experience:
·Associates degree is required; prefer Bachelor's degree in technical or financial field of study.
·5-7 years of experience in material and labor planning & scheduling.
