What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mid-level Designer/CAD Operator position at MiNO Marine, LLC?
MiNO Marine LLC, a New Orleans-based naval architecture and marine engineering firm, is seeking a mid-level Designer/CAD Operator to support our engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and produce detailed drawings in AutoCAD, including structural, mechanical, and outfitting details, with limited oversight
- Prepare general arrangement, structural, and mechanical system drawings from engineering input and sketches
- Coordinate drawing packages across disciplines and maintain drawing standards
- Incorporate design changes, redlines, and comments into drawing sets
- Assist engineers with design development, and drawing checks
- Mentor entry-level CAD operators as needed
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in marine, offshore, or adjacent heavy industrial design
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; experience with Rhino, SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD 3D modeling software a plus
- Working knowledge of vessel arrangements, structural drawings, or mechanical/piping systems a plus
- Ability to work independently from engineering direction with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication skills
