Job Overview
We are looking for a server to train in the mornings but then will switch to a dinner shift server a few days a week.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly, present menus, and provide recommendations based on their preferences, including wine and cocktail options.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using our POS system
- Upsell menu items, beverages, and specials to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Process cash and credit card transactions accurately, including handling cash, processing payments through POS systems, and providing change or receipts.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, food safety standards, and beverage offerings including spirits and wine knowledge.
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and supporting kitchen staff as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a memorable dining experience.
- Follow sanitation protocols for food handling, beverage service, and overall cleanliness to meet health regulations.
- Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple tables efficiently while maintaining a lively, energetic attitude.
Qualifications
- Previous food service experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred; but not required.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively throughout their visit.
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables while maintaining quality service.
- Knowledge of menu and drink offerings
- Ability to process sales transactions accurately using POS systems; basic math skills are essential.
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Experience with food preparation or kitchen support roles is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as bussing tables or assisting in food handling.
