Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT or equivalent).
- Valid state licensure through the WV Medical Imaging & Radiation Technology Board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a critical access or rural hospital setting.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Experience with quality assurance and regulatory compliance in radiology departments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic imaging examinations including X-rays, fluoroscopy, and other radiographic procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients accurately to obtain the best possible images while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Operate and maintain radiology equipment, performing routine quality control and troubleshooting as needed.
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols to protect patients, staff, and self.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members to review images and provide necessary technical information.
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
- Educate patients about the imaging process and address any concerns or questions they may have.
