Our Student Support Professional would be responsible for physical and wellness activities for a portion of the day.Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary starting at $50,000 $2,000 salary increase for master's degreeHealth, Dental and Vision Insurance Nationwide Pet Insurance, including coverage for reptiles, birds and exotic pets401(k) and 401(k) Matching Employee Assistance Program Educational Assistance Program STD, LTD, Life, and AD&D Insurance Generous PTO and Paid Holidays Retention Bonus Ongoing Professional DevelopmentUnlimited Access to Premium Calm App for Staff plus Friends and FamilyEarly access to paid wages with Wisely ADP and DailypayMINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, REQUIREMENTS AND PREREQUISITESMinimal of a bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology or another human services field.Masters degree preferred.Minimum of three years of experience working with families and children.Valid Virginia Drivers license and proof of insurance.Satisfactory Driving Record in accordance with agency Driver Requirements policy.Ability to acquire First Aid, CPR Certification and Safety Care.Good oral, written, interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to organize work effectively, maintain necessary documentation and meet agency and licensing paperwork requirements.Ability to maintain records, prepare reports and required paperwork according to licensing and agency requirements on a timely basis.Ability to maintain daily, weekly, and monthly case documentation and submit to necessary parties according to agency and licensing guidelines.Familiarity with community resources preferred.Basic computer skills and experience working with Microsoft Office.Ability to drive agency vehicle and access to a personal vehicle for client transport.Ability to understand and relate to students with special needs.Ability to assist with implementing and providing behavior modification/management.Ability to observe health and safety regulations.Knowledge of safe classroom procedures and appropriate student conduct.Serve as a mandated reporter.Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4PM.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential functions - May be required to perform any of the following duties: Practice crisis management involving students K-12 and across all levels of disabilities.Assess level of crisis to determine necessary interventions.Facilitates weekly groups for elementary, middle, and high school students on topics relevant to their needs.Plans and implements at least two after school parent programs involving community stakeholders as appropriate annually.Assists administrator with increasing parental engagement.Cooperate with classroom staff and administration in documenting and tracking progress with behaviors per Daily School Report.Reviews, assesses and identifies trends in behavior data and presents assessment to the school administrator and school staff.Complete assessments in a timely manner as directed by school administrators.Makes recommendations to student and school wide behavior programming and implements with school staff. Routinely monitors and assists administrator in providing feedback to staff.Assist teachers in creating appropriate, measurable behavior goals.Attend and participate in IEP meetings as needed or directed by administration.Conduct research into programs, protocols, and related concepts as needed and as directed by school administrators.Establish and maintain an open line of communication with parents and other providers to help provide a holistic approach as it pertains to mental health and behavior modification.Model appropriate coping and problem-solving strategies when interacting with students and staff.Create and provide staff training in identified areas of need and as directed by administration.Participate in scheduled staff meetings and collaborates with appropriate staff (BCBA, Behavior Specialist, Administrators, Instructional Staff) for the development and/or review of behavior intervention plans.Communicate with administration weekly or as needed to assure behavior interventions are aligned with IEP goals of students, are implemented correctly and consistently, and are in support of LFSVA Guiding Principles.Complete monthly audit of general program behavior data to identify common errors and improve validity of data.Provide oversight of school social work, psychology, or counseling interns and provides feedback to placing agency.Maintain client information and records confidentiality in adherence with applicable HIPAA laws and regulations.Report all student injuries, accidents and illnesses to the administration of the school immediately or as soon as is reasonably possible.Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
