What are the responsibilities and job description for the Feed Mill Operator - 3rd Shift position at Minnich Poultry?
Job Summary: Our farm has been owned and operated with the Minnich family name for 3 generations. We have earned a reputation for producing, packaging, and selling the safest, most affordable, and protein-rich food for the world. We now house almost 4 million hens producing around 3 million eggs per day. Together with both family and a friendly workforce, we are able to supply farm fresh eggs to your home!
The Feed Mill Operator is involved in functions of producing poultry feed in the mill. They are responsible for a safe, efficient, and accurate production of high-quality feed.
Feed Mill Operator Responsibilities:
· Prioritize and promote a safe work environment
· Unload ingredients, mix feed, and deliver feed to bins onsite.
· Fill micro ingredient boxes and clean out ingredient bins.
· Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the feed mill and surrounding grounds.
· Perform daily, weekly, and monthly routine preventative maintenance tasks such as
greasing bearings, checking gear boxes, inspection/tightening of belts, etc.
· Identify maintenance needs and recommend repairs or operational improvements.
· Assist in maximizing mill productivity, efficiency, and feed quality.
· Maintain knowledge of and adhere to company feed manufacturing policies, procedures, and quality standards.
· Operate company vehicles, equipment, and machinery safely and responsibly.
· Complete additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
· High school diploma.
· Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
· Ability to tolerate outdoor weather conditions.
· Agricultural background desirable.
· Previous feed operations experience preferred, but not required.
· Knowledge of food and feed industry regulatory requirements preferred, but not
required.
