Job Title: Welding/Fabricator
Reports to: Department Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Department: Welding
SUMMARY: Responsible for fitting and welding of steel parts using a MIG and/or TIG process. Also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by the supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, however, other duties may be assigned.
- Set up welding machines based on the job at hand depending on the material.
- Read and interpret drawings to determine the specific welding requirements.
- MIG and TIG weld steel components based on the specifications of the drawings.
- Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards set forth by Minnich Manufacturing
- Follow, create and help maintain proper welding specification/standards
- Set up welding cells for optimum efficiency.
- Assemble items as instructed by management.
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
- Follow all company rules and policies.
- Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Lift raw materials, final products, manually, using a hoist, or fork lift.
- Uphold all safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- High School education.
- Minimum one-year related experience and/or training in the welding field.
- Experience with steel & aluminum
- Certified MIG and experience in TIG welding.
- Experience with press breaks, iron workers and automatic saws highly preferred.
- Fork Lift experience preferred.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency of the department.
- Ability to identify and measure material.
- Ability to produce quality products consistently.
- Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.
- Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses.
- Ability to read drawings, calipers, tape measures, and angle gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality manuals and procedure manuals
- Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to factional equivalents and fractions to decimal equivalents
- Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time.
- Willing to work 40 hours a week.
- Must be reliable with a strong work ethic.
Salary : $18 - $20
