Summary:

Minnetonka is a privately owned and operated fourth generation family business that is seeking a hands-on Director of IT to lead the planning, execution, and support of Minnetonka’s technology systems. Minnetonka is a brand that develops, manufactures, imports and sells products to wholesale customers and direct to consumers. This is a role that oversees all aspects of our ERP Systems & IT infrastructure — including phones, servers, and networks — to keep our business running smoothly while driving the development and rollout of any new IT solutions.

You’ll also guide our information security, cybersecurity, and risk management efforts, ensuring they align with trusted industry standards. Ultimately, this role ensures that our technology stays reliable, secure, and ready to support every team member across the organization through thoughtful planning, strong leadership, and coordinated projects.

Minnetonka is looking for someone who will work across all departments to understand and service all areas of our business while being deeply curious and focused on solving problems with a short- and long-term view.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help create and lead the organization’s strategic initiatives around using technology to be more efficient.
  • Oversees the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, telephones, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Oversees provisioning of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Manage ERP system support, upgrades, and customizations to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational efficiency
  • Completes projects by coordinating resources and timetables with user departments and data center.
  • Preserves digital assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures for preserving system up-time.
  • Recommends information technology policies and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Manages financial operations of the IT Department by forecasting requirements, negotiating contacts, preparing annual budgets, and analyzing variances. Ensure alignment with financial objectives by initiating corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develops standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to end users.
  • Ensures the creation and maintenance of all written documentation, including system and user manuals, license agreements, and documentation of modifications and upgrades.
  • Conducts periodic performance reviews, manages department and staff development plans as applicable.
  • Proactively manage and communicate security compliance efforts through strategic planning, ownership of key initiatives, and strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Ensures alignment with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, and NIST frameworks.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders across departments to promote a culture of security awareness and accountability.
  • Annually completes verification of standards and processes for insurance renewal.
  • Facilitates information systems security education and training to all employees.
  • Coordinates information security incident response and reporting for events or exploited vulnerabilities including unauthorized system or network access, denial of service, inappropriate data access, data corruption, and/or collection of private or confidential information.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Procures software, hardware, and services.
  • Negotiates and administers vendor and consultant contracts and service agreements. Manage and control specific IT service providers.
  • Reviews company technology contracts for security and backup concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or extensive retail experience in similar capacity
  • Demonstrates a strong business acumen.
  • 3 to 5 years mid to senior-level IT management experience A commitment to high professional ethical standards. Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously with little or no direction and capable of operating under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prefer experience with:

WORK LOCATION:

Primarily in-office, with flexibility for remote work as needed.
