OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
Responsible for the safety of passengers transported by the Head Start Bus. Responsible for ensuring the assigned bus is maintained mechanically. Responsible for following all rules of the road and MNDOT requirements. Must be insurable to drive agency vehicles. Responsible to develop and maintain professional working relationships with families, partners, co-workers and supervisors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Responsible for providing transportation services to enrolled Head Start children.
- Responsible for abiding by MVAC Policies, Head Start Performance Standards, and MN HDS Childcare Center Statutes and Rules.
- Responsible for completing paperwork accurately and in a timely manner according to program procedures and requirements.

Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Drivers must have a minimum of a Class B License with Passenger Endorsement. Prefer one year experience in providing public transportation and experience with preschool age children. This position requires strong communication, and organizational skills. Bilingual beneficial.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
During your work hours you may be required to: Life up to 50 pounds and carry up to 50 pounds; reach above shoulder level; bend/stoop; squat; crawl; climb; kneel; balance; push/pull; sit on floor; find manipulation; simple and firm grasp; and must be ambulatory to move quickly in the event of an emergency.
