Position Summary/Objective Mascot Assistants have the opportunity to see the entertainment side of sports firsthand. Assistants will work with both the Timberwolves (NBA) and Lynx (WNBA) mascots and other relevant staff at both games and community appearances. This person will be the voice of the characters and should be outgoing, motivated, professional, and ideally have a customer service background. This will be a seasonal part-time role, through the regular NBA season and potential playoffs.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. Game night shifts are usually 2 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Staff may be asked to work external events including but not limited to: player or community appearances, or charity and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena to interact and entertain clients/fans. Staff will move boxes and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. This individual may also perform stunts, including jumping, running, climbing etc.

- Provide security for Characters / Performers
- Assist Entertainment Representative with event preparation duties
- Example – Checking in with off-site contact
- Example – Coordinate event logistics
- Example – Setting up and breaking down of mascot props
- Assist mascots with creative performance planning for Lynx and Timberwolves events.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other
- Flexible with schedule; willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays, when necessary.
- Must have reliable transportation and a good driving record.
- Lives in Minneapolis, MN or surrounding areas.
- Speaks well in front of people, interacts well with children and the surrounding community.
- Is outgoing and resourceful.
- Must have reliable forms of communication (i.e. cell phone and email).
- Entertainment experience preferred, but not required.
- Self-starter, pro-active, highly motivated and detail oriented with a personal commitment to excellence.
