Position Summary/Objective: ​

We’re seeking an experienced, high caliber Financial Analyst to join our team. Primary responsibilities for this role include partnering with key stakeholders throughout the company to accurately prepare monthly financials, analyze results, and build projections. As a key-member of a close-knit finance team you will be exposed to all aspects of the company as you assist with the month-end close process and perform account reconciliations.

You will have an intimate understanding of the activity and variances being produced and be able to speak knowledgably when answering questions from leadership. You will also be responsible for preparing financial presentation content for executive meetings and assist with various audits.

Essential Functions: 

  1. As part of the month-end close process you will follow GAAP for revenue recognition, accrual accounting, and account reconciliations
  2. Budgeting and forecasting, profit and loss, market modeling, sales analysis, business development, gross margin, capital, headcount and other facets of the complete P&L.
  3. Becomes the lead facilitator for the company’s ERP system and go-to resource for changes, maintenance, and administration
  4. Participates in ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by finance management.
  5. Provides routine reports to leadership.
  6. Partners with key stakeholders to consolidate month-end analysis and commentary related to the financial close cycle.
  7. Prepares consolidated reporting, presentations, and analysis.
  8. Complies with regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  9. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees and business customers.
  10. Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  1. ​​ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field
  2. 3 years of strong analytical experience performing financial and variance analysis, forecasting, planning, and proven skillset for financial modeling
  3. Previous experience working with a modern ERP like NetSuite (exposure to ERP software implementation a plus)
  4. Experience working with financial systems applications and ability to demonstrate technical proficiency
  5. Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor
  6. Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
  7. Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  8. Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
  9. Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail​​ 

 

 

Education: ​Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree, or equivalent working experience preferred.   

 

Travel: Position will not require travel.

 

Benefits & Compensation:  

  • Compensation: The base salary range for this exempt role will be: $70,000-$80,000.  Total compensation & offer package will include the following: 
  • Benefits: Regular full-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, health saving accounts with an employer contribution, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, and life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. Additional benefits may include employer-paid short/long-term disability plans, generous fitness and well-being benefits, work-related reimbursements, and fully paid family/caregiver leave. Regular full-time employees start with 11 Holidays, at least 20 paid PTO days, 2 Volunteer days, and 4 Personal Holidays in each calendar year.

 

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM. In addition to working office hours staff may be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games, member events and meetings, and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise. 

 

Physical Demands

​​​​ The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.

Travel  ​​Position may require travel to external events. ​
