Position Summary/Objective: This position will work with the facilities team on the day-to-day operations of Timberwolves and Lynx spaces at the practice facility and occasionally Target Center arena. This person will be responsible for the regular maintenance and upkeep of these spaces and equipment, and assisting in long term strategies and facility developments. Additionally, on game-days this position will assist the Director of Facilities to make sure Target Center is game-day ready with regards to spaces around the facility.

Essential Functions:

General Facility Maintenance:

• Respond to facility maintenance tickets for Mayo Clinic Square and dedicated team spaces at Target Center in a timely manner
• Perform routine and reactive maintenance requests across multiple trades including but not limited to; HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and general repairs.
• Perform painting and touch ups to ensure all spaces remain presentable and professional.
• Maintain doors, locks, key systems, roll-up doors, and access hardware.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance using CMMS Software.

Event and Game-Day Operations

• Assist and support event setup and teardown for meetings, practices, team events, and internal functions.
• Verify Target Center Changeover Department has correctly set courtside scorer’s table, benches, camera platforms, LED signage, and other NBA/WNBA mandated elements.
• Ensure all digital signage in Target Center is functioning and displaying correctly.

Vendor, Contractor, and Building Logistics

• Schedule and oversee annual inspections, preventative maintenance, and specialty contractor work.

Specialty Areas

• Manage daily pool logs, chemical testing, and safe storage of materials adhering to state and city regulations.
• Responsible for ensuring that pool pumps and plumbing are operating properly.  Perform minor repairs as needed.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of humidification systems.

Administrative

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, materials used, and work performed.
• Communicate any facilities updates to staff.
• Ensure all Timberwolves and Lynx spaces remain guest-ready

Experience:

• We are looking for a candidate with 3–5 years of maintenance experience, but we are highly open to individuals who are mechanically inclined or other trades who possess a natural 'fix-it' mindset. The ideal technician is a proactive problem-solver who can independently leverage resources to troubleshoot and master new systems quickly, and has an eye for detail to keep our facility world class.

Education and certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• CPO certification preferred
• Experience with general pool system maintenance is a plus.

Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Travel: This position does not travel.

Benefits & Compensation

• Compensation: The base salary range for this non-exempt role will be: $55,000-$65,000. Total compensation & offer package will include the following:

Regular full-time employees start with 11 Holidays, at least 20 paid PTO days, 2 Volunteer days, and 4 Personal Holidays in each calendar year.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. Office hours are typically Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5:30PM. In addition to working office hours staff may be required to work Timberwolves and Lynx home games, member events and meetings, and networking events. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Work is generally performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena which includes bleachers/steps as well as moderate to high levels of noise. 

Physical Demands

​​​​The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
