Director of Student Financial Services

M State is seeking a strategic and student-focused leader to serve as Director of Student Financial Services. This position provides leadership, direction, and oversight of financial aid and student financial services programs, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and a strong, student-centered experience. This position can be located in Moorhead, Fergus Falls, or Wadena, Minnesota.

• Lead and administer all financial aid and student financial services programs
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations
• Oversee financial aid operations including awarding, disbursement, verification, and reporting
• Manage budgets, fiscal controls, and financial aid funding processes
• Supervise, coach, and evaluate financial aid staff
• Collaborate across departments to support enrollment, retention, and student success
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and continuous improvement strategies
• Lead financial communication efforts to provide clear, accessible information to students and families
• Advance equity, access, and affordability through financial aid strategies
• Use data and analytics to evaluate program effectiveness and improve outcomes

• 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Please note our summer hours: effective May 20 – July 28, 2026 – summer hours will be Monday through Thursday 7:30 AM – 5 PM and Friday 7:30 AM – 11:30 AM (excluding the following weeks which will be five, 8-hour days due to the holiday)
• Juneteenth – June 17 - June 23
• Fourth of July – July 1 – July 7

$34.11- $49.39 per hour or $71,222 - $103,126 annually
