In this role, you’ll help build, maintain, and restore the electrical distribution system to ensure safe, reliable service for our members.
- Line construction and maintenance: Constructs and maintains overhead and underground electric distribution lines and associated equipment.
- Troubleshooting and repairs: Responds to outage and trouble calls, makes repairs, and replaces damaged or defective equipment as needed.
- System support: Installs, operates, and maintains transformers, meters, regulators, circuit breakers, lighting equipment, and other line devices.
- Safety and compliance: Supports ECE’s safety culture by following safety requirements, attending training, and performing work in accordance with ECE, RUS, and NESC standards.

- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent and either a minimum of four years of electrical line experience or completion of an electrical lineworker program. Candidates at any stage of a recognized lineworker apprenticeship are encouraged to apply.
- Credentials: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License for interstate commerce, DOT Medical Examiner’s Certification, and CPR Certification. Journeyworker applicants must hold a Journeyman Lineman Certification. Apprentice applicants must have completed an accredited electrical lineworker program.
- Skills: Strong understanding of power line construction and maintenance, along with ECE, RUS, and NESC standards. Skilled in reading and interpreting staking sheets and working safely in the field. Clear communication, effective time management, and a team-focused approach to getting the work done right.
- Schedule: Onsite, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at the Milaca Operations Center located in Milaca, MN.
- Service Area Requirement: To support operational and emergency response needs, employees in this role are required to reside within a 20-mile radius of Milaca, MN.
- Hybrid Option: This position does not offer a hybrid work arrangement.
