MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Laboratory Scientist
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical demands of this job typically require full range of body motion including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination in operation and manipulation of complex laboratory equipment. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time with the use hands to finger, handle, or feel and arms to reach or carry. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs. Requires corrected vision, color perception and hearing to normal range. Requires legible handwriting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Medical Technology, Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science from an NAACLS accredited program AND;
- ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- OR - Bachelor of Science degree related to Chemistry, Biology, non-NAACLS accredited Medical Laboratory science, or other clinical healthcare degree AND;
- 12 semester hours of chemistry (general, bio-chemistry, organic chemistry) AND;
- 12 semester hours of biology (general, molecular, cell, or genetics) AND;
- ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Associate's degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an NAACLS accredited program AND;
- ASCP or equivalent certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist.
