Director of Facilities

Minnesota Jewish Community Center
Saint Paul, MN Full Time
POSTED ON 8/5/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/4/2026

Position Summary

The Director of Facilities provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all Minnesota JCC facilities and grounds, ensuring safe, welcoming, efficient, and well-maintained environments that support exceptional member, guest, and staff experiences.

This position is responsible for the planning, maintenance, repair, renovation, and long-term stewardship of the Minnesota JCC’s two primary properties:

·         The Capp Center, a 110,000-square-foot facility situated on five acres in St. Paul.

·         Camp Butwin, a 90-acre day camp property located in Eagan, featuring one year-round lodge, an outdoor pool, recreation areas, trails, utilities, roads, and supporting infrastructure.

The Director also serves as the Minnesota JCC’s primary facilities liaison for the Sabes Center, a leased location with separate building facilities management. While the Director does not oversee the building’s day-to-day maintenance, they will coordinate closely with the property’s facilities management team and internal leaders to address facility issues, communicate operational needs, support projects, and ensure the space meets program and organizational requirements.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role in a lean operating environment. The Director develops and executes long-range capital improvement plans; oversees preventive maintenance programs; manages facility budgets, projects, and vendor relationships;  and ensures compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements. At the same time, the Director remains closely engaged in regular site inspections, work-order prioritization, maintenance coordination, and response to urgent facility needs. Success requires a leader who can move comfortably between strategic planning and day-to-day operational problem-solving.

The Director supervises the Facilities Specialist and Camp Caretaker, manages the organization’s custodial and security services contracts, and collaborates across the organization to support programs, events, and strategic initiatives.
