Network Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Analyst to join our team, responsible for supporting, implementing, and maintaining our Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) infrastructure. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the seamless operation of MNIT and customer infrastructures connecting to MNet wide area network services. You will independently manage tasks related to problem service restoration, network design, documentation, and configuration efforts. This position requires an employee to be onsite at 600 N. Robert Street, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.

Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience performing network design, automation, and management.

Experience must include:

• TCP/IP network protocols, functions, and operations, with hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting router/switch networks, particularly Cisco and Meraki products.
• Analyzing and diagnosing network problems using network test equipment such as Sniffers and protocol analyzers.
• WAN/LAN/WLAN protocols and software, along with WAN/LAN/WLAN troubleshooting processes.
• Network performance monitoring systems and managing network equipment, including routers, gateways, and switches.
• Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
• Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
