This position serves our partners at Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB). MNIT MMB supports critical business operations for the State of Minnesota, including enterprise human resources and payroll, state employee insurance, and benefits administration. The team also provides the technical expertise necessary to manage the state budget and provide economic forecasts to policymakers.
Job Summary
As a Database Administrator you will be in a DBA operational support role in the management of MNIT MMB’s enterprise Oracle and MS SQL Server database environments to ensure data resources are available, secure, perform, and are recoverable as strategic resources. The position will work with DBA peers, application development and support, as well as various operations teams, PM’s, BA’s, and architects in support of MNIT MMB Information technology ongoing support and future initiatives.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 658 Cedar St., Ste 400, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.
Qualifications
Position requires a minimum of three (3) years of IT related experience in Oracle and/or SQL Server database administration.
Experience must include:
- Monitor daily operations and administration of database environments.
- Work with various teams on database tuning and performance issues.
- Be well versed in database utilities/technologies such as DataPump, RMAN, RAC, SSMS.
- Have experience in database software patching processes.
- Participate in all phases of database development life cycle.
- Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
- Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in Information Technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.

Salary : $69,697 - $114,568
