Schedule
- Tuesday through Saturday, 1:30 PM - 10:00 PM (with a 30 minute meal break). This position works year-round and flex weekends include Family Weekends, excursions, and graduation.

- Coordinate the Social Engagement Program offerings, ensuring a variety of opportunities are provided to foster participants’ social and interpersonal growth
- Train and coach direct reports including Activities Instructor and Activities Assistants; assist with hiring decisions in partnership with the Social Engagement Program Manager
- Understand budgets between programs to help design and monitor the activities/excursion spending is within approved budget
- Oversee the activities schedule to ensure accurate delivery of the College course catalog requirements and Community Program service agreement selections
- Supervise team to ensure all documentation of participant engagement in activities is accurate, completed, and on-time
- Communicates upcoming program offerings to participants via email and other methods
- Design and implement activities for Family Weekends and other special events
- Ensure that the delivery of activity offerings is of high quality and encompass community integration opportunities, leisure and recreation exposure, and person-centered best practices
- Build and maintain positive relationships and professional communication with participants, families, fellow MICC employees, and external community partners
- Maintain confidentiality and promote respect for all participants, families, and others
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, recreation and leisure, education, or related human services field or similar preferred or equivalent experience
- Experience in working with adults with learning disabilities is highly desirable
- Experience in mediation and developing community education programming is desirable
- Experience in planning and coordinating various types of social offerings
- Experience in creating partnerships in the community is highly desirable
- Must have a current driver’s license with a clean driving record as determined by MICC's insurance company
- Outdoor travel and adventure experience preferred
- Excellent people and leadership skills, with the ability to promote a culture of mutual respect and teamwork
- Ability to act decisively and expeditiously to implement plans
- Possess personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and good judgment
- Maintain confidentiality of organizational, employee, and participant information
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, be positive and enthusiastic, and enjoy attending and participating in a wide variety of social engagement activities
