What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Generalist – Road Maintenance position at Minnesota Department of Transportation?
MnDOT District 6 may fill several vacancies at the Owatonna Truck Station.
* Perform all activities required for roadside maintenance
* Perform all roadway surface maintenance activities
* Service and make minor repairs to operating equipment
* Provide traffic control
* Maintains roadways for snow and ice control
* Prepares and inspects winter equipment
* Performs preseason snow route inspection and performs post storm cleanup
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with no Air Brake Restriction and obtain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License with no Air Brake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 5-months of placement into the position.
One year of experience performing activities in snow and ice, soils, road surface maintenance, roadside maintenance, bridge maintenance, signs or related activities (roadway maintenance, driving commercial vehicles, landscaping, operating heavy equipment or farm experience)
OR
Successful completion of a Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance Program (of at least 60 semester credits; or 90 quarter credits) will substitute for one year of experience.
