What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surveys Technician Lead - CADD position at Minnesota Department of Transportation?
This oversees or operates real time kinematic global position systems and oversees data comparison from real time kinematic global position systems or total station. Some of the other duties include:
- Performs as survey lead in construction survey office activities.
- Performs as survey lead in the field activities.
- Performs set-up, calibration, use and maintenance of survey equipment.
- Process survey field data using MicroStation software and create new CADD files or merge with existing files as appropriate.
- Process electronic field data, build utility and drainage databases and CADD files.
- Generate TIN models from field shots or point cloud data from laser scans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Four years of experience performing surveys mapping (e.g., land, location, construction, and/or geodetic control surveys, etc.) which included at least two years of experience utilizing computer-aided drafting and design; OR
- Three years of experience performing surveys (e.g., land, location, construction, and/or geodetic control surveys, etc.), mapping or related activities AND a combination of one year of experience performing roadway inspection or design. Two years of experience utilizing CADD.
- Education Substitution: A two-year Civil or Construction Technology Degree or the following four-year degrees: Architectural, Civil or Mechanical Engineering; Land Surveying / Geomatics; or equivalent may substitute for one year of experience.
