Please note: This position is being posted at two different levels which will be determined by the successful candidates' qualifications. Only one position will be filled.

In this role, you’ll support the District Safety Administrator by leading and coordinating safety and health efforts across the district. You’ll help make sure employees are trained, safety audits are completed, and incidents are handled properly. This position plays a key role in protecting our people and ensuring a strong safety culture across the district.

Your work will include:

  • Planning and promoting safety and security programs
  • Making sure we follow all safety laws and regulations
  • Investigating workplace accidents and identifying ways to prevent them
  • Helping reduce risks and improve employee well-being
  • Supporting a safe environment for staff and visitors
  • This position will be located in Bemidji, Crookston or Thief River Falls, MN and has some flexibility to telework. Minimum Qualifications

Safety and Health Officer 2 Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, Safety & Health Officer 2 applicants must meet the following:

  • Two (2) years of professional level experience in the field of occupational health or safety.

Safety And Health Officer 1 Minimum Qualifications

  • One (1) year of professional level experience in the field of occupational health or safety.

Both levels must demonstrate the following experience on their resume:

  • Knowledge of federal and state occupational safety and health rules and regulations, ergonomics, techniques of injury prevention and hazard evaluation.
  • Experience developing and conducting safety training.
  • Ability to review and evaluate work environments sufficient to identify potential environmental health hazards, evaluating them sufficient to apply corrective measures.

Please note:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Emergency or Risk Management, or Industrial Hygiene (or closely related field) substitutes for one (1) year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health and Safety, Emergency or Risk Management, or Industrial Hygiene.
  • Skill in Industrial safety and hygiene best management practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience utilizing EHS Health and Safety Software.
