This position exists to provide quality checks to both container labels and outgoing shipments. The person in this position will accept samples into the Lab and enter them into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and will assist in prepping containers and kits for distribution to clients for sample collection. In addition, they will provide assistance training employees on sample triage, sample entry, and other procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Quality checking container labels and outgoing shipments.
  • Training employees on sample receiving procedures.
  • Greet and direct clients, couriers, facilities and laboratory staff with regard to sample submissions.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies for sample receiving and order additional supplies as needed.
  • Perform sample triage procedures for all sample submissions to accurately capture date, time, and temperature, and determine the priority order for sample entry.
  • Perform sample entry procedures for all sample submissions to capture information and enter information into the LIMS for sample documentation and sample tracking.

Minimum Qualifications

To facilitate proper years of service crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

  • One (1) year of experience conducting laboratory work in a sample receiving capacity.
  • A bachelor's degree in chemistry of related field.

The following is required to be considered a candidate and will be assessed during the interview process:

  • Knowledge and understanding of laboratory safety procedures.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple tasks to ensure work is complete in a timely manner and tasks are prioritized.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of formats to gather and relay information with tact and diplomacy.
  • Analytical skills sufficient to understand and follow various laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs) and related documents accurately and consistently.

A related bachelor's degree may substitute for twelve (12) months of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Quality Assurance procedures and practices in a regulated laboratory environment.
  • Experience training other staff members on sample receiving procedures.
  • Experience using LIMS system to enter sample submission data.
  • Customer service skills sufficient to interact effectively with partners, vendors, and coworkers.
  • Experience in assembly, packing, and shipping.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move and transport up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Additional Requirements

  • This position requires successful completion of a background check and reference check.
  • This employment does not require a valid driver's license, but it does demand occasional travel which the candidate will be responsible for meeting.
  • Under U.S Citizen and Immigration Service regulations, the successful candidate must be able to accept work in the U.S. by the day employment begins. This agency is unable to offer H-1B sponsorship.
