The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) Academic Standards, Instruction and Assessment Division is looking for an Education Consultant 3 - Science Assessment Specialist to join the Test Development team. This position will provide direction, leadership, coordination, consultation and program services to school districts and to the Academic Standards, Instruction and Assessment team to facilitate the development of the statewide science assessment and implementation of state academic standards in science and serve as the state expert and primary resource for K-12 science assessment.
This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering state. Effective June 1, employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 50 or more miles away, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance are eligible to telework up to 100% of the time.
Minimum Qualifications

This position requires four (4) years of combined professional experience as a teacher or administrator of science education programs or professional experience in large scale assessment including test development, item review processes and online assessment; a Master’s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; a Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.

- Licensure in science education;
- Experience teaching the Minnesota Academic Standards in Science in grades 3-12 to all students, including multilingual learners and students with disabilities;

- Experience developing and facilitating professional development for educators, using learning management systems, and working within spreadsheets and databases.
