Join our team as a Materials Transfer Driver with the Facilities Management Division (FMD)! In this position, you will serve as a vital link for state government operations. You will spend roughly 60% of your day on the road, safely driving a state vehicle to collect and deliver mail across participating state agencies, the legislature, and the general public. When you are not driving, you will work in our high-energy central mail hub. There, you will operate postal machinery, sort and process outbound USPS mail.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Minnesota Class C Driver's License (CDL) and acceptable driving record.
  • Experience operating a large box van and using motorized vehicle tailgates under various weather conditions.
  • Basic computer skills- email, word processing, and spreadsheets.
  • Data entry and management skills sufficient to log and retrieve inventory specifications.
  • Customer services skills sufficient to develop effective working relationships.
  • Ability to operate mailing equipment.
  • Ability to maintain records and manuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating and maintaining mail inserting machines.
  • Knowledge of postal regulations, discount postal prices, required paperwork or data files to ensure mail acceptance by the USPS.
  • Experience operating electric warehouse equipment such as electric pallet jacks and small electric tools.

Physical Requirements

Successful applicant must pass a criminal background check through American Databank, employment reference checks, a pre-employment physical (CRT test requirement minimum is medium-heavy ex. Able to lift 31-45 lbs. frequently 100-300 reps per hour), a DOT drug screen, and a driver’s license check.
