Minnetonka Christian Academy is seeking a caring, dependable, and Christ-centered Pre-K/Kindergarten Teacher’s Assistant and Aftercare Worker to join our team for approximately 15 hours per week. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and has a passion for helping them learn, grow, and experience the love of Jesus each day.
Responsibilities - Aftercare Worker (~10 hours per week)
- Supervise and ensure the safety of students by maintaining appropriate supervision, following school safety procedures, and monitoring student behavior.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities that provide a fun, engaging, and positive after-school environment.
- Assist students with homework by providing encouragement, guidance, and a quiet space for independent work.
- Support students' social and emotional well-being by promoting respectful behavior, resolving conflicts appropriately, and modeling positive Christian character.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school staff regarding student needs, attendance, and any significant incidents or concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment by preparing activity areas, distributing snacks as assigned, cleaning up after activities, and helping care for program supplies.
Responsibilities - Teacher's Assistant (~5 hours per week)
- Assist the lead teacher with daily classroom activities and routines.
- Support students during learning centers, art projects, outdoor play, and other hands-on activities.
- Help prepare classroom materials and maintain an organized, welcoming learning environment.
- Supervise students to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Encourage positive behavior through kindness, patience, and Christian values.
- Assist with classroom cleanup and other duties as assigned.
