The City of Kenyon is seeking an Operations Superintendent to lead the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of the City’s electric and water utility systems. This position serves as the Utility’s top-level operations leader and working foreperson, directing and participating in field operations while supervising utility staff. Responsibilities include overseeing utility infrastructure, generation plant operations, contractor coordination, regulatory compliance, budgeting, employee safety, long-term planning, and customer service. The Operations Superintendent works closely with the City Administrator and Utility Commission to support strategic initiatives, capital improvement planning, and the reliable delivery of utility services to the community. This position requires participation in after-hours emergency response, weekend work, and on-call duties as needed.
Candidates should have completed a vocational line worker program, possess a Journeyman Lineworker License, experience in a supervisory role, Class A Water License or ability to obtain one, and a Class B Commercial Drivers License.
