Join our Public Works Fleet team as a Mechanic. In this hands-on role, you’ll work on a wide range of City-owned heavy, light, and emergency equipment that keeps our community safe and running smoothly. This non-exempt (hourly) position offers a starting wage of $37.04/hr., along with Burnsville’s leading-edge Total Rewards and a supportive, strengths-based culture focused on your growth and well-being.

Each day, you’ll diagnose issues, perform high-quality preventive maintenance and repairs, and apply best practices to deliver safe, reliable equipment for City operations. You’ll also partner with City staff, contribute to smart equipment decisions, and take pride in work that truly makes a difference in the community.
