Job Title: Occupational Therapist
Description:
The Occupational Therapist will identify, assess, and provide treatment for children with motor and self-care delays as well as sensory processing difficulties.
The Occupational Therapist will provide training to clinical staff regarding Occupational Therapy, as well as training to caregivers and other service providers in clients' environments and communities to promote consistency and generalization of skills.
Responsibilities include attending meetings with the SPOT Coordinators and/or Chief Executive Officer on a monthly basis.
The Occupational Therapist will develop and implement individualized Plans of Care, utilizing methods demonstrated to be evidence-based, for clients, as assigned.
They will assist in the development of the Individual Treatment Plan and any Prior Authorization information to procure funding for the clients' Occupational Therapy program.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Occupational Therapy
- Occupational Therapy License
- Full-time availability
- Ability to respond quickly-get up from floor-run-walk fast (for elopements)
- Strength required to implement physical holds when safety of the client or staff is at risk
- One or more year(s) Occupational Therapy experience
- Prior experience collaborating with Speech Pathologists and/or ABA Therapists
The Occupational Therapist will establish and maintain current and accurate clinical records, participate in ITP planning as applicable, and provide leadership supervision and/or execute all skilled treatment programs.
They will also attend all necessary trainings and/or meetings at the central office site, provide leadership and training on therapy strategies to Behavior Therapists, Lead Therapists, Clinical Supervisor, and Program Manager, and train as needed.
