Job Summary
MinneBio is seeking a highly motivated and dependable Scientist to join our growing research and development team. In this role, you will contribute to the development and production of bioreagents, including recombinant proteins, enzymes, antibodies, and related biotechnology products. The successful candidate will apply expertise in protein purification, enzyme activity assays, and analytical characterization to support innovative research and product development initiatives.
Responsibilities
1. Design, execute, and optimize experiments involving recombinant protein expression, purification, and characterization.
2. Perform protein purification using chromatography techniques, including affinity, ion-exchange, and size-exclusion chromatography.
3. Analyze protein purity, integrity, and homogeneity using SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, ELISA, and other biochemical and immunological methods.
4. Conduct enzyme activity assays and biochemical analyses to evaluate protein function, stability, and quality.
5. Isolate and purify DNA, including plasmid DNA, using standard molecular biology techniques.
6. Perform PCR, cloning, bacterial transformation, transfection, and cell culture procedures.
7. Develop, validate, and optimize analytical assays and utilize instrumentation such as HPLC, spectrophotometers, plate readers, and microscopy systems.
8. Collect, analyze, interpret, and document experimental data and maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with quality standards and laboratory safety procedures.
9. Support microbiology, cell culture, and biotechnology research projects while maintaining a safe and compliant laboratory environment.
10. Contribute to scientific reports, technical documentation, protocols, and product development activities.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field.
2. Hands-on laboratory experience with protein purification, enzyme assays, DNA isolation, PCR, cloning, Western blotting, ELISA, and cell culture.
3. Experience with chromatography systems such as ÄKTA or equivalent protein purification platforms.
4. Familiarity with cell culture, transfection, and aseptic laboratory techniques.
5. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain detailed laboratory records.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
