Minneapolis Pickleball Club boasts a tight-knit team and an ambitious vision. We’re looking for a General Manager who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and wants to be the operational heartbeat of a club that genuinely loves its community.
This is not a behind-the-desk role. You’ll be on the floor, in the system, and in the mix -- managing our schedule, serving our members, and making sure the club hums along day-to-day.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Court & Schedule Management
- Own the CourtReserve platform -- open play, reservations, leagues, private events, and special events
- Monitor daily court utilization and make real-time adjustments to maximize floor usage
- Ensure all participants are checked in and courts are being used as booked; proactively address no-shows and unpaid bookings
- Communicate proactively with members about schedule changes, new offerings, and court availability
Member Management & Communications
- Manage the full member lifecycle -- new member onboarding, access card issuance, membership changes, cancellations, and card retrieval
- Respond to member and non-member inquiries via email, web forms, and text/chat widget
- Run weekly aged-fee reports and follow up on expired payment profiles
- Conduct quarterly audits comparing active access cards to active memberships
- Track and manage Medicare program check-ins (Active Renew, Aaptiv, Silver Sneakers, One Pass) and submit monthly reporting
Private Events
- Respond to private event inquiries via email and web intake form
- Prepare quotes, draft invoices, and coordinate event logistics
- Work closely with the Club Director to evaluate scheduling trade-offs and pricing for larger events
- Coordinate event-day staffing and ensure smooth execution
League Administration
- Post and manage leagues in CourtReserve on a rolling 7-week cycle
- Manage drop-in spots, pro-rated opportunities, and league attendance
- Submit match scores to DUPR and manage league software
- Communicate with players at the start and end of each league season
- Recruit and support league coordinators as needed; step in to fill a court spot when the team needs it
Facility & Merchandise
- Maintain a clean, welcoming facility -- including routine cleaning tasks when on-site
- Coordinate with building maintenance and the owner on supplies, repairs, and facility needs
- Manage lost and found
- Track merchandise inventory (grips, balls, eyewear, paddles, etc.) and initiate reorders as needed
Member Communications & Newsletter
- Partner with the Marketing & Strategy Lead on messaging priorities, upcoming events, and what’s already been communicated across channels
- Co-own the member newsletter (weekly to biweekly) -- contributing operational content and club updates in close coordination with marketing
- Send member-facing operational communications -- onboarding emails, league notices, event reminders, and membership confirmations
ADJACENT RESPONSIBILITIES
AS A SMALL TEAM, THE GENERAL MANAGER MAY ALSO:
In a lean operation, leadership means filling gaps. This role is expected to step in where needed -- not as a permanent assignment, but as a function of being present and invested in the club’s success.
- Plan and own at least one member-facing event per month - from concept through execution - contributing to the club’s goal of consistent weekend programming
- Serve as the primary on-site contact during peak hours (weekday evenings and weekend mornings) when the Club Director is not present
- Take over business line forwarding as needed -- handling member inquiries, access issues, and private event leads
- Report week-to-week membership and court utilization trends in team meetings, providing operational context to complement marketing and dashboard updates
- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and day-of logistics when staffing requires it
WHO YOU ARE
OPERATIONALLY SHARP
You love systems, schedules, and keeping things running smoothly -- even when it gets chaotic.

Members feel seen when you’re around. You naturally build relationships and represent the club well.
PHYSICALLY PRESENT
You’re comfortable on your feet, navigating stairs, tidying up, and filling a court spot when the team needs it.
PICKLEBALL FLUENT
You know the game and you play it. Being able to step onto the court when the club needs you is a real expectation, not a nice-to-have.
DETAIL-ORIENTED
Member records, billing, access cards, audit reports -- you’re the kind of person who closes the loop.
COLLABORATIVE
You work well with a small team where roles overlap, and you communicate proactively rather than waiting to be asked.
