Location: Minneapolis–St. Paul Metro & Surrounding Suburbs (Within 50-Mile Radius)

Full-Time or Part-Time | 6-Day Paid Trial | Company Vehicle Provided

Pay Range: $30–$55/hour (Based on experience)

Up to $5/hour additional for Journeyman or Master License

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, well-rounded HVAC Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. This role demands excellent troubleshooting ability, professionalism, strong customer service, and the capacity to work both independently and within a team.

Technicians must be mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and capable of maintaining clear, respectful communication at all times. You will represent Minn Mechanical Contractors while operating a company vehicle, on job sites, and in customer interactions—professional conduct is required at all times.

Duties

• Install new HVAC systems per manufacturer specs and design requirements
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure system performance
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioning and ammonia refrigeration units
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to diagnose effectively
• Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and pressure gauges
• Conduct HVAC-related property maintenance and minor appliance servicing
• Weld components when needed for installations or system repairs (welding experience required)
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with customers—no profanity
• Provide clear options and explanations during service calls
• Document all work performed in accordance with company policy
• Represent the company with clean appearance and professional conduct, especially when driving company vehicles

Requirements

• Proven field experience as an HVAC Technician (5 years required)
• Strong knowledge of air conditioning, heating systems, and general property maintenance
• Familiarity with appliance repair and ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately
• Proficient in diagnostic tool use including ohmmeters and multimeters
• Welding skills preferred but not required
• Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention to detail
• HVAC diploma, certificate, or technical training (required)
• Journeyman or Master License preferred ( up to $5/hour bonus)
• Valid driver’s license with:
• No DWIs within the past 3 years
• No major driving violations within the past 10 years
• Must live within 50 miles of the Minneapolis–St. Paul area
• Open to occasional out-of-town travel with advance notice (per diem provided)
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times

Pay: $30.00 - $55.00 per hour
