POSITION OVERVIEW
The Chiropractic Assistant (CA) is a vital clinical support role responsible for maintaining smooth patient flow, delivering an exceptional patient experience, and supporting efficient clinic operations. CA’s work directly with doctors, front desk staff, and fellow team members to guide patients seamlessly through each visit.
This role requires high awareness, professionalism, urgency, and attention to detail. Chiropractic Assistants are expected to anticipate patient needs, support clinic flow, and uphold the culture, standards, and heart of Mink Chiropractic Center at all times.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Flow & Clinic Support
- Escort patients promptly and efficiently throughout the clinic.
- Maintain constant awareness of patient location and next steps.
- Intercept patients leaving doctors and guide them to the appropriate area.
- Retrieve and manage patient charts in a timely manner.
- Ensure patient movement through the clinic is intentional, guided, and seamless.
- Support clinic flow during high-volume periods.
Patient Interaction & Communication
- Greet patients professionally and confidently.
- Communicate clearly where the patient is going and what will happen next.
- Provide reassurance and clarity during transitions or brief waits.
- Thank patients for coming in and communicating next steps respectfully.
Clinical & Therapy Support
- Prepare patients for therapy or treatment as directed by the doctor.
- Assist with therapies, modalities, or procedures within scope and training.
- Prepare treatment rooms and equipment between patients.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional therapy areas.
Team Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with doctors, front desk staff, and other CA’s.
- Assist team members as needed to maintain smooth clinic operations.
- Minimize distractions and remain patient-focused at all times.
Professional Representation
- Uphold clinic standards, culture, and professionalism.
- Serve as a calm, attentive, and supportive presence on the clinic floor.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
DAILY EXPECTATIONS
Direct Report: Patient Operations Lead; General Manager
- Arrive prepared, attentive, and ready to serve patients.
- Maintain awareness of clinic flow and patient movement throughout the shift.
- Prioritize patient care and experience above personal tasks or conversations.
- Demonstrate urgency while remaining calm and composed.
- Maintain professional posture, appearance, and demeanor at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and remain alert in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively.
- Previous healthcare or patient-care experience preferred, but not required.
- Willingness to learn clinic procedures, patient flow, and standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- On-site position in a chiropractic/medical office setting.
- Regular interaction with patients, doctors, and staff.
- Fast-paced environment requiring standing, walking, and assisting patients throughout the shift.
