WHO WE ARE:
Ministry with Community (MwC) is a non-profit organization located in Kalamazoo, MI. We are a daytime shelter and resource center, open 365 days a year from 6:30 am-4:30 pm. The mission of MwC is to empower people to make positive life changes. POSITION OVERVIEW
The Facilities Manager enjoys both hands-on and in-office tasks and provides oversight and recording of maintenance and repairs, supervision, scheduling and evaluation of custodial staff, management of departmental budget, inventory control and ordering supplies. Basic plumbing, carpentry, roofing, mechanical and electrical knowledge is advantageous in this role.
The Facilities Manager must demonstrate compassion, integrity and trust. This individual must uphold the highest standards of ethics and values in alignment with the mission of Ministry with Community.

HOURS
This is a full-time position. Hours are typically M-F 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Facility is open 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. and hours may vary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 18 years of age or older.
  • At least 3 years of direct facilities management experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively communicate with others, outstanding oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively use a computer and Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to provide self-transportation to community events and meetings.
  • Occasionally lifting/moving objects of up to 50 pounds at one time. Ability to repetitively bend, twist, kneel and/or squat.
  • Ability to travel around all areas of MwC facility and outside property. Ability to move through landscaping and rough terrain.
  • Ability to see and hear the environment in order to monitor well-being of members, volunteers, interns, community partners/outreach workers and staff and identify adverse situations.
  • Ability to learn quickly (desire to continue learning) and exhibit creative problem-solving.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and adaptability to changing needs.
  • Commitment to the highest level of customer service for both internal and external customers (staff, members, volunteers).
  • Commitment to diversity and customer service.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
1. First and foremost, place MwC member needs and the MwC mission front and center in all processes,
decisions, tasks, work and efforts.
2. Utilize the MwC current strategic plan as the primary guide for determining the focus of all department
efforts.
3. Actively support the Board of Directors and Executive Director in carrying out their strategic goals and
objectives.
4. Work to establish effective relationships with our diverse members, while maintaining an environment of
dignity and respect.
5. Actively facilitate and contribute to Facilities Committee meetings on a regular basis.
6. Actively participate in and contribute to management team, Board of Directors, and organization-wide
meetings on a regular basis.
7. Perform and/or coordinate maintenance and repairs of commercial laundry washers and dryers, custodial and
kitchen equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, building maintenance spreadsheets and HVAC systems
software, irrigation system and alarms.
8. Ensure contracts are updated and executed with contractors and vendors, including garbage and recycling
services, HVAC, landscaping and others.
9. Manage, schedule, and train custodial staff.
10. Maintain inventory of supplies and purchases within budget.
11. Other duties as assigned.

WAGE AND BENEFITS
$50,000 - $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus benefits including matching 403(b) plan,
short/long-term disability, optional medical, dental and vision insurance
