Custodian/Maintenance

Position Summary:

Our maintenance personnel should be self-starter without the need for hands-on supervision.  The ideal candidate needs to have the ability to organize multiple requests, exhibit excellent time management, assess and prioritize multiple and sometimes simultaneous requests and needs.

Essential Functions:

1. Cleaning and upkeep of buildings and properties, including grounds maintenance, painting, pressure washing.
2. Ability to perform grass cutting, weeding of multiple yards and buildings.
3. Familiar with various hand tools and power tools.
4. Ability to replace doors, locks, trim, and molding.
5. Understand basic plumbing, toilets, showers, faucets, and drain traps.
6. Troubleshooting water leaks.
7. General knowledge of HVAC systems.
8. Familiar with general drywall repair.
9. Perform other duties needed to help drive our vision, and fulfill our mission, that “The poor should never be treated poorly.”

Experience:

• Experience in residential and/or commercial cleaning
• Ability to work independently and efficiently

• Ability to differentiate between what can be done in-house, and what will need to be done by a contractor.
• General concern for the poor and sick and sensitivity to their need for dignity and respect.
• Previous experience in senior living environment a plus
• Familiarity with custodial and sanitization practices

Education/Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent-REQUIRED
• (1) one year maintenance experience-PREFERRED

Skills and Knowledge:

• Dependable and cooperative.
• General skills are required in electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Ability to differentiate between what can be done in-house, and what will need to be done by a contractor.
• General concern for the poor and sick and sensitivity to their need for dignity and respect.

• Previous experience in senior living environment a plus
