This role focuses on transforming field incidents into meaningful insights—combining technical depth, investigative thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to uncover patterns, drive resolutions, and elevate product quality. By bridging software, connectivity, and system-level behaviors, the engineer contributes to continuous improvement, strengthens product resilience, and supports the delivery of high-quality experiences for users who depend on these solutions every day.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$74,400.00 - $111,600.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Short Term Incentive (STI).

By bridging software, connectivity, and system-level behaviors, the engineer contributes to continuous improvement, strengthens product resilience, and supports the delivery of high-quality experiences for users who depend on these solutions every day.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Perform critical analysis of field issues related to Minimed’s Intensive Insulin Management products, utilizing tools such as AWS CloudWatch, ELK, Jira, ServiceNow, Oracle, and MySQL to identify product-specific concerns and deliver detailed issue summaries essential for patient safety and product reliability.
- Apply strong coding skills on any of the programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C, C etc.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis of software complaints using phone call notes, application logs, and application documentation. Apply advanced knowledge of connectivity protocols, including Bluetooth, TCP/IP sockets, Serial communication, and Wi-Fi networks, to diagnose and resolve complex communication issues between devices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both onsite and offsite, to address high-profile quality issues. Coordinate closely with software experts to ensure seamless resolution of technical challenges impacting critical insulin management systems.
- Compile detailed analysis findings in compliance with established process requirements and software development lifecycle standards. Provide actionable insights to support process improvements and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Continuously acquire and apply knowledge of web, mobile, and cloud technologies (e.g., AWS) and device connectivity protocols to enhance analysis capabilities. Translate findings into actionable resolutions that improve product performance and customer satisfaction.
- Recommend updates to software requirements, functionality, and features based on insights gained from issue investigations. Feed learnings into system design improvements to enhance product quality, reliability, and connectivity.
- Apply advanced knowledge of product design, software requirements, and integration of mobile/cloud systems with insulin therapy devices (e.g., Glucose Sensor Transmitters, Insulin Pumps, and other ecosystem components) to address highly complex and time-sensitive issues.
- Resolve critical field issues promptly to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, meeting response time requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize workflows across the team while maintaining the highest standards of quality and reliability.
