Position Summary:
Minichi, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and proactive Safety Coordinator to lead all safety-related initiatives across our highway, bridge, guiderail, and sign construction projects. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment by implementing and overseeing comprehensive safety protocols in alignment with industry standards and PennDOT regulations. This role will split time between field operations and office-based responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Jobsite Safety Oversight:
- Ensure all work zones are set up and maintained in accordance with PennDOT PUB 213 standards.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor jobsite safety and compliance.
Workplace Safety Program Leadership:
- Organize and facilitate the company’s Workplace Safety Committee.
- Coordinate all workplace injury reporting and follow-up, including OSHA reporting and documentation.
- Track and analyze injury data, safety trends, and near-misses to drive continuous improvement.
Daily Safety Operations:
- Lead and document daily safety talks/toolbox talks across job sites.
- Ensure proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and utilized.
Training & Certification Management:
- Ensure all employees maintain up-to-date safety training and certifications (e.g., OSHA 10/30, Flagger Certification, First Aid/CPR, etc.).
- Develop, coordinate, and document safety training programs and refreshers.
- Manage and track employee safety records and training statuses.
New Hire Onboarding:
- Conduct safety orientation for all new hires, ensuring understanding of safety procedures, policies, and expectations.
- Ensure all onboarding safety documentation is completed and filed appropriately.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and other applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Serve as the point of contact for safety inspections and audits.
Drug & Alcohol Testing Program Management (CDL):
- Serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) for CDL drug and alcohol testing.
- Ensure full compliance with FMCSA regulations for controlled substances and alcohol testing.
- Coordinate pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and return-to-duty testing.
- Maintain all testing records and ensure proper confidentiality of results.
- Communicate and enforce testing policies with all CDL holders.
- Consult with third-party administrators (TPAs), collection sites, and laboratories, as necessary.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain all safety and compliance documentation in a well-organized digital filing system.
- Prepare reports and deliver safety performance updates to management.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of OSHA standards, PennDOT PUB 213, and FMCSA drug and alcohol testing regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in both field and office environments.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
