Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Installer Technician

Overview

Mini Split Pros is the Pacific Northwest's dedicated mini-split specialist. We do one thing: install a small range of ductless heat pump systems in residential homes and small commercial settings — at a fair price, without the pressure. We are looking for experienced installation technicians who want to develop deep expertise in a single product category rather than jumping between furnaces, boilers, ductwork, and everything else a general HVAC shop throws at you.

This is a full-time, paid field position. You will work on mini-split installations across the greater Seattle, Eastside, and Puget Sound region — primarily new installs for homes adding heating and cooling for the first time, upgrades from window units, and replacements of aging systems. If you take pride in clean, precise work and want to become genuinely expert at what you do, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

• Install ductless mini-split systems (single-zone and multi-zone) in residential and small commercial settings, following manufacturer specifications and installation schematics
• Mount and secure indoor wall and in-ceiling units, route and connect refrigerant line sets, and commission outdoor condenser units
• Run and connect dedicated electrical circuits to indoor and outdoor units within the scope of a Washington State 06A or 06B specialty electrician license
• Pressure-test, evacuate, and charge refrigerant line sets; handle R-454B refrigerant in compliance with EPA Section 608 requirements
• Conduct pre-installation home assessments to evaluate wall placement, line set routing, electrical capacity, and permit requirements
• Pull and manage mechanical and refrigeration permits through Seattle SDCI and other local jurisdictions as required
• Perform system commissioning, including the manufacturer app setup and customer walkthrough at the end of every install
• Maintain accurate job records, permit documentation, service logs and installation pictures in our field service management software
• Represent Mini Split Pros professionally in customers' homes — on time, respectful, and leaving the workspace clean

Requirements

• Valid Washington State specialty electrician license (06A or 06B) — required
• EPA Section 608 Universal certification — required
• Hands-on experience installing ductless mini-split or heat pump systems; Mitsubishi Electric experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with refrigerant line set installation, flaring, brazing, and pressure testing
• Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and mini-split installation schematics
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Comfortable working at heights (ladders, rooftops for line set routing) and in tight spaces
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to clean, code-compliant work
• Ability to work independently and manage a full install job from start to finish

Nice to Have

• Mitsubishi Diamond Contractor training or M-Series installation certification
• Experience with the Mitsubishi Comfort app and kumo cloud/Comfort Connect setup
• Familiarity with Seattle SDCI permitting process for refrigeration and mechanical work
• Experience with R-454B refrigerant handling (the current Mitsubishi lineup has transitioned from R-410A)

What We Don't Do

We are a mini-split specialist. We do not install furnaces, boilers, or gas appliances. We do not work with ductwork or central air systems. We do not perform electrical panel upgrades (that goes to a licensed electrical contractor). Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
