About Mini Athletics
Mini Athletics is the first of its kind! We take the three core pillars of athleticism (running, jumping, and throwing) and transform them into a magical world of imaginative play for children ages walking to 7 years old.
We are on a mission to build a strong foundation of physical literacy, cognitive skills, and social confidence in the next generation of Central Texas athletes.
The Role
We are looking for a high-energy, charismatic, and dependable Lead Coach to join our team. You won't just be teaching sports; you’ll be leading "Mini Athletes" through themed adventures—one minute you're sprinting away from "dinosaurs," the next you're jumping over "lava" to build coordination and strength.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead with Energy: Deliver 30–45 minute classes based on our structured, progressive
- Engage & Inspire: Use your "theatre" skills to keep toddlers and young children engaged through imaginative storytelling and play.
- Coaching Excellence: Teach fundamental movement skills (balance, co-ordination, agility) in a way that is fun and accessible.
- Build Community: Interact with parents and guardians to foster a welcoming class environment.
- Equipment Management: Set up and pack down colorful, specialized athletic equipment for each session.
Who You Are
- A "Kid Person": You have experience working with early years (ages 2–7) in a coaching, teaching, or childcare setting.
- High Energy: You aren't afraid to be silly, loud, and enthusiastic to keep a 3-year-old’s attention.
- Reliable: You are punctual and professional. Our Mini Athletes look forward to seeing you every week!
- Athlete Mindset: While a background in sport is a plus, theater backgrounds are also helpful!
- Communicator: You can clearly explain two-step instructions to children and converse professionally with parents.
Qualifications
- Must pass a background check.
- Must have reliable transportation to various class locations in Central Texas.
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred, but can be obtained upon hire).
- Kinesiology or Education students are highly encouraged to apply!
