We’re looking for an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team in the Reading/Wyomissing area. This position plays a key role in keeping production running efficiently by designing, building, maintaining, and improving tooling and dies that support high-quality output. What you’ll do
- Set up, align, and maintain dies in presses to ensure proper fit, operation, and production quality
- Design, build, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures that meet manufacturing requirements
- Program and operate CNC and Wire EDM equipment to create precision components
- Modify and optimize existing tooling to accommodate new part designs or improve efficiency
- Create and install shims for accurate alignment and consistent part quality
- Inspect finished parts for precision and compliance with specifications
- Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve tooling issues
- Maintain accurate documentation of tool modifications, repairs, and setups
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement and tooling enhancement initiatives
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
What we’re looking for:
- 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker in a manufacturing or production setting
- Proven skill in setting up and adjusting dies and presses for precision production
- Proficiency in CNC programming and Wire EDM operation
- Knowledge of shim making principles and press alignment best practices
- Experience using traditional precision machinery (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and commitment to high-quality work
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or apprenticeship training preferred)
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods
