Job Title: Human Resources Specialist
Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Reporting to: Director of Human Resources
Location: Remote, with occasional travel. Residence in the Colorado Springs area preferred. Must live in Colorado.

Job Overview:
The Human Resources Specialist supports HR operations across multiple client schools, with a focus on executing onboarding, hiring, and HR processes in a timely and compliant manner.
This role works closely with the HR team to ensure a positive employee experience and accurate processing of HR activities. The HR Specialist plays a key role in maintaining systems, supporting school leaders, and carrying out day-to-day HR functions.
Essential Functions:
Onboarding and Hiring Support
- Support onboarding processes for new hires across client schools, ensuring timely completion of all required steps
- Assist with HRIS and ATS transactions related to hiring, onboarding, and employee setup
- Conduct or coordinate background checks and employment verifications
- Ensure completion of required onboarding documentation, including I-9 and E-Verify processes
- Respond to routine onboarding questions from new hires and school leaders
Recruitment and Talent Support
- Assist schools with job postings, applicant tracking, and hiring process coordination
- Support interview scheduling and candidate communication as needed
- Help review job descriptions for consistency and formatting prior to posting
HR Systems and Process Execution
- Enter, maintain, and update employee information in HRIS and payroll systems
- Assist with processing employee changes, including compensation updates, status changes, and other personnel actions
- Maintain workflows in systems such as Jotform, Monday.com, and DocuSign to support HR processes
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of HR data and documentation
Payroll and Benefits Support
- Assist with payroll-related data entry and compensation updates
- Support processing of benefits deductions and other payroll-related items
- Help ensure accurate and timely processing of HR-related payroll inputs
Compliance and Administration
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Assist in audits of HR processes including I-9, PTO, and benefits administration
- Maintain organized and compliant employee records
General Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and high-quality support to client schools and employees
- Handle routine employee inquiries, escalating more complex or sensitive matters as appropriate
- Maintain knowledge of HR best practices and regulatory updates
- Support additional HR projects and initiatives as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum of two years of human resource experience.
- Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Google Workspace or related software.
- Passionate about Minga Education Group's mission and impact.
- Self-starter, self disciplined.
- SHRM-CP highly desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at the client's facilities.
