Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day operational activities across Mine System Solutions’ shop operations. This role supports the CEO/Director of Operations in ensuring that MSS maintains efficient production workflows, high-quality repair standards, and strong operational discipline.

The Operations Manager provides leadership across the mechanical shop, machine shop, and electrical repair shop while working closely with procurement and operational leadership to ensure work flows efficiently through the organization.

This position serves as a key operational leadership role focused on improving workflow, supporting technician productivity, and strengthening operational performance as MSS continues to grow.

Primary Responsibilities

Operational Management

Coordinate operational activities across the following departments:

• Mechanical Repair Shop

• Machine Shop

• Electrical Repair Shop

Ensure repair work flows efficiently through all shop functions.

Maintain organized processes and clear operational structure to ensure efficient workflow and reliable execution.

Production Oversight

Focus areas include:

• repair scheduling

• technician utilization

• workflow coordination

• production tracking

Process Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and shop workflow.

Areas of focus include:

• reducing repair turnaround time

• improving shop organization and workflow

• identifying operational bottlenecks

• supporting operational system improvements

Operational Support

Support the Director of Operations in implementing operational improvements including:

• repair process improvements

• inventory coordination

• operational planning

• capacity management

Cross-Department Coordination

Serve as a key operational link between:

• shop operations

• procurement and sourcing

• supply chain activities

• commercial teams

Ensure operational work progresses efficiently from intake through completion.

Leadership Expectations

Leaders at Mine System Solutions are expected to actively support the development of a disciplined and high-performing operational environment.  Support development and performance of shop personnel including mechanics, machinists and electrical technicians. Leadership at MSS is expected to remain closely connected to operational activities and shop performance. Reinforce MSS standards for safety, quality, and operational performance.
