Part Time Custodian

Custodian (Part-Time) – Canfield Avenue School

Position Overview
The Mine Hill School District is seeking a reliable and hardworking Custodian to assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-maintained school environment. The Custodian plays an important role in supporting the daily operations of the school by ensuring that classrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas are properly cleaned and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, and other school facilities
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors as needed
• Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the building
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies
• Assist with building maintenance tasks and minor repairs as assigned
• Set up and break down furniture and equipment for school events and activities
• Assist with snow removal, grounds maintenance, and seasonal tasks as needed
• Ensure that the building remains safe and secure during assigned shifts
• Follow all district safety procedures and cleaning protocols

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior custodial or facilities experience preferred
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
• Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, equipment, and materials
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated reliability and strong work ethic

Compensation
Salary and benefits will be provided in accordance with the Mine Hill School District support staff contract.
