Title: Senior Java Developer with Data Migration experience
Location: McLean, VA (Hybrid – 3 Days a week)
Duration: 7 Months of Contract
We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Engineer to support a large-scale DFS data migration initiative. The ideal candidate is a Java expert with hands-on experience in AWS data services, including Glue, RDS, and Spark, and has a strong background in building scalable backend services, data pipelines, and migration frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and optimize backend services to support DFS data migration activities.
- Develop reliable and high-performance Java-based applications, APIs, and microservices.
- Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services such as Glue and Spark.
- Work with AWS RDS databases for schema management, data validation, and data transformation.
- Analyze legacy system data structures and design migration mappings and workflows.
- Ensure data accuracy, quality, and integrity throughout migration cycles.
- Optimize performance for large-scale data ingestion, processing, and transfer.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Solution Architects, aand Platform teams.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and automation to ensure efficient migration execution.
- Troubleshoot complex data issues and implement long-term sustainable solutions.
