Director of Pharmacy (PIC) – Contract Opportunity
📍 Peoria, IL | Behavioral Health Hospital
We are seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to support the opening and operational setup of a new behavioral health facility. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong inpatient hospital pharmacy experience and the ability to work independently.
Required Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacist License
- Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience
- PIC experience preferred
- Strong operational and leadership background
Preferred Experience
- HCS Order Entry System
- Omnicell Automation Systems
- Behavioral Health Pharmacy experience
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as acting Director of Pharmacy and PIC
- Assist with pharmacy setup for new facility opening
- Stock and configure Omnicell systems
- Review and approve medication orders
- Lead/support P&T meetings
- Establish pharmacy workflows and processes
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Additional Information
- No sterile compounding required
- Training provided for HCS and Omnicell
- Solo DOP role (no technician support)
- Monday–Friday schedule with on-call responsibilities
