What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Mindfully Behavioral Health?
Mindfully Psychiatry is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our office in Fairfield, OH. You will work with Dr. Jonathan Cole, Psychiatrist, and our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. This position plays a key role in patient care, working with our physician and other staff to provide the best in patient care. This role will be temporary, working Monday- Friday, 8a-5p.
Pay Rate: $18-$22 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation service by obtaining precertification of patients, procedure scheduling, and performing treatments. Doing follow-up on patients as needed.
- Assists with the provision of Spravato treatment by obtaining precertification of patients, procedure scheduling, post procedure follow-up, and performing treatments. Doing follow-up on patients as needed.
- Obtain vitals as needed on patients in the office.
- Collaborates with scheduling staff and physician(s) in the coordination of appointment scheduling.
- Answers the telephone promptly and courteously, screen calls, takes messages, provides information and follows up on patient issues in a timely manner.
- Schedules patient appointments and procedures ordered by the providers.
- Follows system and office policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Completes mandatory education and training to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
- Assisting with front office responsibilities and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be willing to work at a 1099.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program.
- Basic knowledge of medications and medical terminology.
- Must have proficient computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience working as a medical assistant in a physician's office.
- Knowledge of Electronic Health Records systems.
- One year of pediatric experience in a practice.
