Mindful Communication Group is a holistic, client-centered private practice based in Hampton, VA. We provide speech therapy and mental health therapy services. Our Hampton office is expanding, and we are seeking a PRN Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our outpatient pediatric team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and wants flexibility, strong clinical support, and a positive work culture.
Position Summary:
This SLPA position focuses on in-office outpatient pediatric therapy, with the option for and daycare support. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creativity in treatment, values collaboration, and wants to grow clinically.
Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed SLPs in conducting therapy sessions.
- Implement treatment plans and therapy techniques as directed by the supervising SLP.
- Monitor and document progress and responses to therapy activities.
- Collaborate with SLPs to adjust treatment strategies based on individual needs.
- Prepare materials and assist in session planning as needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in pediatric speech therapy.
- Stay updated on the latest research, advancements, and best practices in the field of speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology
- Eligible for SLPA certification (Virginia licensure not required to start, but preferred)
- Knowledge of speech therapy techniques and familiarity with materials/tools
- Experience working with pediatric populations and a passion for helping children with speech and language challenges
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to connect with families
- Collaborative, team-oriented work ethic
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation
