Why This Role Matters: Our Purpose & Mission

At the Mind & Spirit Counseling Center, we believe that real change starts when a community comes together with a shared purpose. Every event we host, every hand we shake, and every story we share serves as a vital bridge connecting our neighbors to our core mission. We are not just looking for a logistical coordinator; we are looking for a champion of our cause. The Community Engagement & Development Manager will transform operational logistics into meaningful human experiences, ensuring that every dollar raised directly translates into deepened social impact and sustainable community transformation.

Position Overview

The Community Engagement & Development Manager is a high-impact role designed to expand the Center’s community footprint and manage our annual Women Helping Women luncheon event. This role is built for a hyper-organized project manager who thrives on logistical precision and possesses a genuine passion for public-facing community engagement. The responsibilities are strategically structured into three key pillars: Event Management (40%), Community Engagement (40%), and Purposeful Donor Support (20%). The ideal candidate finds joy in leaving the desk to build regional alliances, tracks every micro-detail of an event timeline with excellence, and serves as an inspiring, positive representative of our mission out in the community.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Mission-Driven Event Production & Logistics (40%)

· **End-to-End Execution:** Own the full planning lifecycle, logistics, and day-of execution for our annual fundraiser, Women Helping Women, aiming for a target event portfolio value of 275,000–300,000 that funds our critical programs.

· **Timeline & Grid Management:** Maintain hyper-detailed project timelines and production schedules to keep all vendors, staff, and event committees strictly on track, understanding that operational excellence builds donor trust.

· **Vendor & Budget Accountability:** Manage external vendor relations (catering, venues, AV, printing). Negotiate contracts and strictly monitor expenses to maximize resource allocation to our mission.

· **Committee Leadership:** Serve as the primary staff liaison for our volunteer event committee, organizing agendas, and follow-ups to inspire and empower our community advocates.

2. Vibrant Community Engagement & Ambassadorship (40%)

· **External Ambassadorship:** Act as a vibrant, positive, and knowledgeable face of the Center at local networking groups, chambers of commerce, regional fairs, and speaking engagements, radiating enthusiasm for our mission.

· **Outreach Velocity:** Maintain an active presence in the field, executing 2–3 structured community outreach actions or presentations per month to boost regional brand awareness and spark new collaborative partnerships.

· **Corporate Event Sponsorships:** Partner with the Director of Development to update materials, identify value-aligned local businesses, and secure a 15% year-over-year growth in corporate event underwriting and business sponsorships.

· **External Communications:** Manage external communications and appeals to grow donor engagement and donor connection, provide project management from start to finish with the support of the Development Coordinator, independent contractors, and printer to successfully launch and execute three appeals each year.

3. Purposeful Donor Coordination & Support (20%)

· **Attendee Conversion:** Implement data-driven post-event follow-up strategies to convert at least 15% of first-time event attendees into lifelong, recurring financial supporters within 60 days of an event.

· **Data Integrity Liaison:** Work directly with the Development Coordinator to ensure all event RSVPs, ticket purchases, auction items, and sponsor tracking data are cleanly inputted into the CRM within 48 hours to preserve accurate relationship histories.

· **Stewardship Support:** Support the Director of Development by managing localized stewardship touches for event-related donors, ensuring high retention through personalized thank-you touches and transparent event-impact reporting.

Required Core Competencies & Qualifications

· **Experience:** 3–5 years of professional experience in event production, project management, corporate marketing, or nonprofit development with a track record of driving collaborative goals.

· **Hyper-Detailed & Process-Driven:** Exceptional organizational habits. You find genuine satisfaction in spreadsheets, checklists, flawless schedules, and multi-layered event grids, viewing precision as a reflection of respect for our cause.

· **Priority Management:** Proven ability to manage multiple event and project deadlines simultaneously with grace and agility, keeping teams motivated and on schedule.

· **People-First & Extroverted Energy:** A genuine love for networking, storytelling, and community building. You possess excellent public presentation skills and the ability to instantly connect with diverse audiences.

· **Technical Literacy:** Experience with event registration platforms and donor databases/CRMs (Salesforce and Canva experience preferred) to leverage data for relationship building.
